Day 3 (May 4, 2022) in the books. No injuries and no holes in the boat. Today was a short cruise, only making around 30-miles. We departed Mantague Harbour around 9:00am and arrived in Nanaimo around 1:30pm. Nanaimo is the last jumping off point....Today we learned and better understand how the Pacific NW currents and tides rip through passages – there are many to go. We missed the early slack tide at Dobbs passage and had to wait for the 12:43pm slack tide. We arrived too late at Nanaimo to cross the Strait of Georgia. Tomorrow we will cross this vast open stretch enroute to Pender Harbour and northward.
