Six hours and approximately 41.3-miles. Up at 4:30 and departed at 5:00 to hit Dent rapids at slack tide. Today we made it through 3 of the 5 rapids Yuculta, Gillard, Dent – I cannot stress the importance of going through at slack water due to the strength and speed of the currents in these rapids. Timing is everything so buy Ports and Passes and learn how to use the Tide and Current Guide – we are still learning…

Of importance, we also met Hans at the Blind Channel Resort and he was kind enough to educate us on the VHF Marine Radio to get the Canadian Weather Forecast channels. Another needed and useful tool – remember, we are a learning organization.

Since we departed at 0500 we got in around 1100 and had a little down time to hike and take a nice long shower. Tomorrow, we will tackle Whirlpool and Greene Point Rapids and hopefully make it to Port Harvey if the weather permits on the open waters of the Johnstone Strait. We will be up at 4:30AM checking the updated forecast.
